Falsetta praises SEGC girls on strong start to the season

SEGC’S Head of Women’s Artistic Ross Falsetta has praised the club’s girls on a strong start to the new season.

It was a busy spring for SEGC, which competed at the English Championships in Redbridge in early March, British Championships in Liverpool in mid March, and the Superstars of Gymnastics event at London’s O2 Arena in late March.

The club’s WAG section had two senior, two junior and seven Espoir gymnasts at the English, and one senior, two junior and three Espoir at the British.

It was also represented by Halle Hilton at the high-profile Superstars event and the 14-year-old won on beam in front of a judging panel which included club-mate Amy Tinkler.

Notable results at the English included a silver on vault for Sophie Goodman, and third in the all-around for Ellie Petroiu.

Ross said: “All the girls did fantastically well for the club and it was very clear South Essex were out in force and looking good.

“At the English we had many comments regarding how many of us there were with the welfare officer saying how all the girls from SEGC were wonderfully engaging and great ambassadors throughout the entire weekend of competition.”
