SCOTT HANN paid tribute to his incredible support network after collecting an Outstanding Coach of the Year (Olympic discipline) award on the weekend.
SEGC’s Director of Coaching was a joint winner of the prize with City of Birmingham GC’s Lee Woolls at the 2020 British Gymnastics National Awards at The International Centre, Telford.
And it was a night when SEGC superstar Max Whitlock, who retained his pommel world title in 2019, was also one of four winners of the Outstanding Athletes of the Year award.
Scott (pictured on the night with Lee Woolls) said: “After a tough couple of years, last year was great with Max regaining his European and world titles.
“We both had to work hard and reset to get back to this position so to win this award meant a lot.
“But for me any award like this represents the many people in the background who support us, especially here at the club and of course at home. Without their support it is just simply not possible.”
Nearly 400 people attended the awards ceremony where the outstanding achievements made by gymnasts, volunteers, coaches, clubs and community members were acknowledged.
