SOUTH ESSEX GYMNASTICS CLUB will soon be extending its range of activities to include an exciting new Circus Skills class.

Children of all ages and adults will be welcomed to try out the discipline on the newly-installed specialist equipment at the Basildon Sporting Village.

SEGC chairman Roy Short said: “We are excited to announce we will be starting a new discipline of circus skills in collaboration with the National Centre for Circus Arts and British Gymnastics.

“This involves the installation of a new rig in our small hall to allow the use of silks, ropes, aerial hoops and trapeze.

“We are currently negotiating with our landlords over the installation of this equipment.

“We hope this will be popular with the local community, especially following the interest raised in this activity by the new BBC programme Tumble.”

A start date is still to be confirmed for the classes, which will be overseen by the club’s experienced coaches Jeff Davies and Dave Massam.
