REBECCA BUNCE says it was an amazing experience to be selected to judge at her first major event after her call up to the Rhythmic Junior World Championships in Russia.
The event between July 19-21 saw the host nation’s next generation of stars enjoy a clean sweep of gold medals at the new Irina Viner-Usmanova Gymnastics Palace in Moscow.
Rebecca, SEGC’s Acting Head of Rhythmic Gymnastics, said: “Russia has been amazing, really beautiful and I have been well looked after.
“I flew here last Wednesday and fly home today before heading off the British Championships this Wednesday.
“This was first Junior World Championships and Great Britain select a judge to go to every competition – and for this one I was selected.
“I hadn’t been to a major championships before this and it was slightly stressful to begin with.
“But the competition went well, I made new friends and the British gymnasts performed well. It has been my highlight of judging so far.”
Rebecca qualified as a Category 3 Brevet judge in April 2017 after completing a British Gymnastics course in Bulgaria and can oversee individual and group rhythmic competitions.
