THREE South Essex girls had a brilliant weekend at the British National Voluntary Levels Age Group Championships in Guildford.
Sienna Goodwin won a silver medal as part of the East team and was the third highest scorer on beam, but a fall on bars meant she finished ninth individually overall.
Coach Leah Hickton said: “With Sienna’s combined score from Compulsory Level 3 at the start of the year – where she was crowned champion – and her score here it meant she was sixth in Great Britain. Which is a great achievement.”
Paige Moroney and Violet Manser competed for South Essex and both completed lots of new skills, including a double tuck on floor for the first time from Paige.
Paige came second overall in Great Britain for this age group, top-scored on floor and had the second highest mark on bars.
Violet finished a in a respectable tenth place and, with their combined score from compulsory and voluntary Level 2 scorers, both got a top-ten placing in the country.
Leah added: “All the girls competed well with only a few mistakes and overall it was a great competition in tough categories.”
