SIENNA McCOY won a gold medal for South Essex Gymnastics Club – at her first ever competition!
Sienna was crowned Novice Aged-6 champion at the Pipers Vale Pearls competition at the Pipers Vale Gymnastics Club, Ipswich, on Sunday, June 26.
At Novice Aged-7 level, Elsie Shepherd won vault and beam gold and floor silver, Ocean- Raine Ross was joint first on vault and third on beam, and Lois Drummond was floor champion. Nancy Fiddes was runner-up on beam, and Elsie Nicholls finished fifth on beam.
In the Novice Aged 8-9 group, Olivia Murray, Maggie Smith and Connie Mae Griffith all came in the top half of the 18-strong field.
At Intermediate Aged 8-9, Isabel Cartwright was first on beam, and Evie Carr was runner-up on vault and beam. Mia Walsh took home bronze medals from vault and bar.
In the Advanced Aged 9-10 category, Ruby Miller was first on floor and second on bars, with Teagan Newcombe winning gold on both vault and beam.
Holly McDonagh took home three silvers from bar, beam and floor in the Intermediate Aged 10-12 section, Darcey Fraser bronzes from beam and floor, and Jessica Haycock gold on floor.
In the Advanced Aged 11-13, Elise De Boos won the vault and beam events and added floor silver and bar bronze. Kristi Mia Walker was second on vault and third on beam, with Emma Coombs taking top honours on bars and floor and second on vault. Madison Jennings, Olivia Cartwright and Billie Masser all enjoyed top-half finishes.
And at the Advanced Age-14+ level, Maisy Cockerill won gold on vault and beam and bar silver, with Mia Brien taking two bronzes. Ellie Cowell was fourth on vault and Bethan Turvey sixth on beam.
