PARENTS have praised the organisation and enjoyable experience of SEGC’s 2019 Gym School Cup at the Eversley Leisure Centre.
The annual event took place at the club’s new satellite venue in Pitsea for the first time and featured nearly 400 young gymnasts and about 1,000 spectators over the weekend of June 22-23.
Boys and girls from the Under-5s section up to Under-12s competed on trampoline, vault and floor, and a host of all-around and individual apparatus medals were handed out.
Staff and volunteers put in a terrific effort with many working through from 10am to 8pm on Sunday at what was the biggest SEGC event to be staged at Eversley so far.
There was lots of positive feedback from parents on the club’s Facebook page (see above) and on the day to club staff from spectators as they left the venue after the photographs were taken.
SEGC Events manager Cara Noble said: “The event was very smooth from start to finish.
“The new addition of apparatus medals went down very well and all the children left smiling with lots of awards. Every child received a certificate for taking part.”
