THE fourth annual Circus show at South Essex Gymnastics Club attracted a bumper crowd of 130 on Sunday.
About 60 of the club’s Circus specialist gymnasts put on an Alice in Wonderland-themed event in the club’s bespoke gym at the Basildon Sporting Village.
Organiser Cara Noble said: “We used the Alice theme because we wanted to make it a bit of a story with each of the acts telling a different part of that story.
“We had someone playing the Mad Hatter and the other characters and it worked really well.
“And I think this show underlines just how well our Circus programme has grown over the years.
“We now have about 100 members across the board – adults and kids – and we have a massive waiting list too.
“But we always welcome new members and interest so please get in touch if Circus skills is something that interests you and we will contact you when there are spaces available.”
