THREE groups and two individuals represented SEGC with distinction at the 2019 Rhythmic British Championships.
All 19 girls from the club challenged for honours at the event in Liverpool over the weekend of July 26-28.
Rachel Lattimer, who was competing as a Junior for the first time at this event, showed some strong routines to finish top ten on three apparatus. She put up a strong fight and was very close to making several apparatus finals in a very difficult category.
Isobel Connah – who was in the Under-12 category and competing for the second time at the British Championships – also had a fantastic competition, finishing top ten on two apparatus and achieving some personal best scores.
The Sparrows group performed very well in the Espoir section to qualify for both apparatus finals. In the all-around competition they narrowly missed out on a medal after finishing fourth.
The Starlings held their own in a strong category to finish seventh overall.
And the Eagles shone in the Senior competition, with three silver medals in all-around, hoop/clubs and ball, with only one mark separating first from third place in the all-around category.
