SEGC crowned British team champions as Max gears up for Euros

SEGC star Max Whitlock has geared up for next week’s European Championships by helping the club win the British team title, and then taking part in warm-up event in Germany.

Max and club-mates Reiss Beckford, Jay Thompson, Tommy Nicolaou and Hayden Skinner claimed the Adams Shield (pictured) with a score of 239.080 to finish ahead of City of Birmingham (238.320) and Pegasus (236.030) at the national event in mid-July.

And with the Euros starting at the Hydro Arena, Glasgow, on Thursday (August 2), Max also joined his international team-mates in a friendly against their German, Swiss and French counterparts in Baiersbronn, Germany.

The British team of James Hall, Dom Cunningham Joe Fraser, Courtney Tulloch, Frank Baines and Max scored 248.550 points to finish runners-up behind Germany.

Max scored 14.650 on pommel, the apparatus on which he is reigning Olympic champion.
