Brinn wins pommel gold in Iceland

BRINN BEVAN won pommel gold at the Northern European Gymnastics Championships in Iceland on the weekend.

The SEGC gymnast scored 14.3 to top the podium at the event in Reykjavik between September 21-22.

British star Brinn was picked alongside team-mates Jo Cemlin Jones, Josh Cook, Emil Barber and Jacob Edwards to represent Wales against high-quality opposition from across the continent.

He tweeted: “Managed to improve on my routine from qualification. It wasn’t perfect, but it’s another successful routine under the belt on the quest to perfection.

“So proud of everyone today, both men and women! Proud to be part of the team.”

Wales faced competition from the likes of Denmark, Scotland and Sweden at an event which saw men’s and women’s teams compete.
