Scott Hann urges Brinn Bevan to lay down a marker at the European Games

SCOTT HANN wants Brinn Bevan to strengthen his bid to secure a World Championships spot with a strong showing at this month’s European Games.

British and SEGC star Brinn has just been selected for the Minsk 2019 European Games, which will take place in Belarus between June 21-30.

And SEGC Director of Coaching Scott (pictured with Brinn) says it will provide a useful platform ahead of the Worlds in Stuttgart in early October.

He added: “This is a great opportunity for Brinn to continue his steady build back towards the top.

“He did a remarkable job at the 2015 European Championships in Poland, making two finals.

“Hopefully he can use the European Games as another stepping stone towards qualifying for the World Championships later this year.

“He will only be competing on four apparatus again, missing floor and vault. As always we are very proud here at the club.”

Minsk 2019 represents the last senior multi-sport event prior to next summer’s Olympic Games and will provide invaluable experience for the British athletes hoping to travel to Tokyo.

In addition to gymnastics, Team GB will compete at Minsk 2019 in archery, badminton, boxing, canoe sprint, cycling, judo, karate, shooting, table tennis and wrestling.
