SEGC’S Rhythmic section kick-started their summer with strong showings at the Bath Open and the International London Cup.
Individual gymnasts along with national and elite groups took part in the event in the West County, while a number of individuals attended the competition in the capital in early July.
Danielle Paul, Acting Assistant Head of Rhythmic Gymnastics, said: “There were some fantastic results with some girls at the Bath Open beating over 20 gymnasts to medal.
“For some of the group gymnasts this was their last friendly competition before the British Championships two weeks later. The Eagles, Starlings and Sparrows all earned bronze medals, which gave them a great boost before heading to Liverpool.
“At the International London Cup our girls were competing in tough categories against gymnasts from Russia, Poland and others countries. All performed well and everyone finished with either a top-three medal or a special mention award.
“And both Rachel Lattimer and Isobel Connah came away with gold medals, so overall it was a very successful weekend for our rhythmic team.”
