Equity and Equal Opportunities
South Essex Gymnastics Club is committed to the
principles of equity and fairness. The club will ensure that the rights,
dignity and worth of all individuals (members and staff) are respected.
The club will do its best to encourage individuals from all
sections of the local community to become involved as participants, coaches and
officials and will ensure that no employee or member is discriminated against in
any way.
SEGC confirms its commitment to a comprehensive
policy of equal opportunities for its employees and its members.
Our aim is to ensure that no employee or
job applicant, member or prospective member receives less favorable treatment on
grounds that are not relevant to good employment practice for staff or to
gymnastic ability and attainment for members.
SEGC will ensure that:
-
Staff are recruited, promoted and
selected for training on the basis of their qualifications, skills,
abilities and aptitudes
-
Gymnasts are selected and invited
for training on the basis of their abilities and aptitudes and their
potential to achieve expected levels of attainment
SEGC will continue to review its
policies, practices and procedures with the above objectives in mind and will
ensure that staff are aware of their duty under legislation and agreed policies.
Any member or employee who believes that
they have been discriminated against is encouraged to raise the matter through a
confidential interview with the Manager or designated trustee.
Any member or employee
suspected of treating another member or employee in an unfair or discriminatory
way will be dealt with according to disciplinary procedures. |
