RHIANN RICHARDSON had a brilliant Rhythmic British Championships by making two apparatus finals.
The nine-year-old from South Essex Gymnastics Club excelled in the Rope and Ball disciplines and came fifth in the All-Around at Liverpool’s Echo Arena over the weekend of July 27-30.
SEGC’s Head of Rhythmic Gymnastics, Verity Adams, said: “It was Rhiann’s first British Championships and she has had a big obstacle to overcome in terms of her health in recent times so this was a truly brilliant performance from here.”
The Basildon-based club were also represented by three teams at the annual showpiece event.
In the Elite Espoir Group section, the Rainbow group of debutant Katie Bardwell, Louisa Duff, Francesca Foster and Isla Sewell-Moore made the Hoop final.
And the group of Isobel Connah, Louise Imamzade, Rachel Lattimer and Josslyn Miller finished seventh in the overall standings.
And at Elite Junior Group level, the Pink team of Drew Castle, Emily Hardy, Zoe Harrison, Connie Miller and Jade Woollard were fourth in the Clubs final.
Verity added: “All 14 girls had a fantastic weekend and we made a few finals, which was great to see.
“I am so proud of all gymnasts and coaches who have worked hard to compete this well on such a big stage.”
