SOUTH ESSEX’s artistic girls won 11 medals at the General Gymnastics County Level 1 & 2 competition in Colchester on Sunday, April 10 – with five progressing to a regional final in Ipswich on Sunday, June 5.

In the Level 1 age group, Maggie Smith was second overall after walking away with silver on vault and floor, and bronze on bars.

At the same level Connie Mae Griffith claimed a bronze on vault.

Lily Bevan was the overall champion at Level 2 after winning silvers on beam and floor.

And in the eight-to-nine-year age group Lexie Goodman won a gold on vault and floor.

In the Level 2 competition for ten-to-12 age group, Florence Wardle-Tomlin got a bronze on vault and a bronze overall.

It means that all the SEGC girls who finished in the top three on their apparatus will compete in the finals at Pipers Vale against East regional rivals  in the summer.
