HOLLY VICKERS was crowned East Regional champion for Under-8s to cap a successful weekend for South Essex Gymnastics Club.
Seven-year-old Holly (pictured above, fourth from the right in the middle row) also scored 8.200 to finish ahead of club-mates Ava Waller (7.000) and Emma Bell (6.800) and win the Level 2 Free individual section at the Zonal event in Wellingborough on Saturday, May 20.
SEGC’s Jessica Folly (6.400) was sixth and Amelia Pietrzak (6.300) seventh.
South Essex’s Head of Rhythmic Verity Adams said: “It was a great weekend all around but a special mention for Holly, who showed determination and motivation to win that trophy.”
In the Level 1 Under-8s Free section, SEGC’s Emily Zaika (7.367) was third, Freya Smith (6.367) 14th and Sophia Keeling (5.767) 16th.
Emma Duff (7.200) took the bronze medal in the Level 1 Under-10s Free category, as did Alina Berezina (8.200) in that section’s Hoop competition.
Miley Turnbull was individual champion of the Level 2 Under-10s section with a score of 8.700. Jessica Cotgrove (6.467) was ninth, Grace Wiseman (6.433) 10th, Romilly French (5.867) 12th and Tegan French (5.333) 13th.
Sophie Ablitt was third with the Hoop for the Under-10s at Level 2, Indiah Sandy (6.567) fifth and Lily-Rose Doel (5.033) sixth.
In the Level 2 Under-12 section with the Ball, Katie Bardwell (7.400) was fourth and Ellie-Ana Wilcox (5.000) 10th.
And with the Ribbon at Junior Level 2, Alicia Barnes (8.067) claimed the bronze with Olivia Ansah (6.800) fifth and Olivia Beech (6.533) sixth.
South Essex’s Junior Level 3 Clubs Group (pictured below) of Olivia Beech, Olivia Ansah, Keira Tyler, Alicia Barnes and Abigail Merchant won silver medals with a score of 14.300.
