RHYTHMIC gymnasts at South Essex Gymnastics Club are getting ready to take part in the club’s annual Fuchsia Cup.
About 100 girls from the entry-level classes through to the elite section will showcase their skills at the competition at the Basildon Sporting Village on Saturday, March 4.
It is a return to action for the group who last competed at the Club Team Championships and Round 3 of the Group League in Stoke in November.
The Fuchsia Cup will be split into categories based on experience and skill levels and there will be ranking places for those in the top six and medals for the top three.
Head of Rhythmic Gymnastics, Verity Adams will be on the judging panel alongside Assistant Head of Women’s Artistic and Rhythmic Gymnastics, Rebecca Bunce.
Verity said: “We usually hold this competition at the end of the year but this start around it will be at the start of our season, so we will use it as a control competition to see where our gymnasts are at.
“There will be prizes for the routines and also for the girls’ handling and body skills.”
- Entry forms have been handed out in Rhythmic classes and must be returned to the office by Monday, February 6, to book a place.
