HUNDREDS of spectators turned out to cheer on young gymnasts at the first-ever Eversley Gym-School display on March 10.
The theme was ‘Best of British’ and nearly 200 club members showcased their skills in front of crowds of up to 150 per display.
And some of the parents also enjoyed seeing coaching staff dress up as iconic Britpop group, the Spice Girls (pictured below) – although the reference was lost on some of the children!
SEGC Events Manager Cara Noble said: “It was the first display for Eversley’s children and very well received by gymnasts and parents.
“All of the coaching staff and volunteers were all thoroughly impressed with the standard of the children, who have only been doing gymnastics at the centre a short while.
“Some of the staff decided to dress up as the very best of British, the Spice Girls. And although some of the children had no idea who we were meant to be – I think it entertained the parents!
“I was pleased with the turn out and now we hope to make next year’s even bigger and better.”
