SOUTH ESSEX Artistic girls enjoyed fantastic results with two champions and a bronze medallist in the Espoir section of the English Championships on Friday, February 9.
Five girls from the club took part and, for most, it was their debut at the annual event.
Ellie Petroiu produced fantastic routines on beam and her bars routine, which had four new skills, earned her a bronze.
Paige Moroney – who competed only five days before this competition at Compulsory Level 1, which earned her a place in the British Championships in March – competed on pieces.
Her floor routine was the standout performance and it earned her the gold medal.
Ellie Gargett competed on bars and beam and did a great job on both.
Ellie put together a very high difficulty beam to win gold and will be competing again at the British Championships in March.
Elise Adeyemo, who has been unlucky with injuries over the last few years, performed fantastically over four pieces of apparatus, showcasing lots of new skills at her first English Championships.
Emma Wilkinson also did a great job and competed lots of new skills for the first time.
Coach Leah Whitlock (pictured above with the girls) said: “We were very pleased to come away with two champions and bronze medalist and it was great to have a group of five Espoirs competing from South Essex.”
