BRINN BEVAN has marked the week he turned 18 by making two finals at the European Games in Baku.
The South Essex star, who celebrated his landmark birthday on Tuesday, was in the all-around final in Azerbaijan today (June 18) and placed 14th.
Club-mates Max Whitlock, Reiss Beckford, Jay Thompson watched a live feed in their gym in Basildon to cheer Brinn on.
Brinn opened with a confident floor display and recovered from a stuttering star for a solid pommel display.
He fell backwards on his dismount from the rings but responded well on vault and parallel bars to close the gap on the leaders.
But errors on the high bar to finish cost the South Essex star a higher finish in a very strong field of international competitors.
Brinn has traveled to the new, high-profile event with coach Jeff Davis and director of coaching Scott Hann says he is proud of how well they are representing their country – and club.

Brinn’s score of 86.264 meant he qualified in seventh for Thursday’s all-around final. He also qualified for Saturday’s final in fourth place with a score of 14.766.
