SEGC’s Rhythmic section showed their strength in depth with a number of eye-catching results in national competitions at the start of June.
It was the NDP Finals and round one of the Group League in Stoke-on-Trent on the weekend of June 8-9, and SEGC were brilliantly represented by Sophia Keeling, Ava Waller, Milana Bernans, Rhiann Richardson, Josslyn Miller, Jade Woollard and Katie O’Connor.
In the Group League, Robins and Falcons were in National League action, with the Sparrows, Starlings and Eagles in the Elite League.
Danielle Paul, SEGC’s Acting Assistant Head of Rhythmic Gymnastics, said: “All of the girls performed extremely well in a very tough competition.
“There were notable results for the Eagles in winning the Senior Group category, and Ava Waller in finishing second in Free and second overall in the Under-10 individual section.
“This was a particularly big achievement for Ava as this was
her first time at a national level competition.
“Katie O’Connor also had a fantastic competition as she won gold with all three apparatus and the all-round with some personal best scores.”
The Falcons were fourth in the National League and the Starlings fourth in the Elite League.
SEGC ‘s Sophia Keeling, Isobel Connah, Rhiann Richardson and Rachel Lattimer were all in action at the English Rhythmic Championships in Bath between June 1-2.
Sophia made two apparatus finals, Isobel and Rhiann were in three, and Rachel made the Clubs final. Isobel won Ribbon bronze.
SEGC’s Eagles, Starlings and Sparrows groups all made both apparatus finals, and the Robins were also in action.
The Sparrows finished third overall and were runners-up in
the Free final.
The Eagles won in the Ball final and third in the Hoop/Clubs final.
