The
Australian Youth Olympic Festival (AYOF) is a
bi-annual multi-sport for Olympic aspirants
between the ages of 13 and 19. It is organised
and hosted by the Australian Olympic Committee,
and importantly has the patronage of the
International Olympic Committee.
Liverpool's, Jenni Pinches is excited about the
AYOF competition on the back of attending this
years Olympics as part of the BOA Olympic
Ambition Programme
"I'm looking forward to the AYOF a lot. Most
of all the travelling and the experience of
being on the other side of the World, but also
the chance to compete against other countries
will be a huge help to me. To have a clean
competition in this environment will be a great
achievement and really help my career."
"It was an amazing experience to be in
Beijing as part of the 2012 Olympic Ambition
Programme, all my friends were very jealous! I
feel that I now know what it might be like in
2012, to be in the stadium and to witness the
intense atmosphere, it obviously looked like it
would be easy to get distracted so now hopefully
I'll know what to be ready for and be able to
prepare for that."
