Gymnanza 2009

All tickets for the 4-9pm show are now sold out, there are tickets remaining for the 12-2pm but they are selling out fast so don't forget to buy them from the office.

Girl's SEGC Challenge

Sunday 1st November 2009

This weekend there will be over 140 gymnasts competing in the SEGC Challenge.

Round 1

Registration - 8.30 am

Presentations - 11.20 am

Round 2

Registration - 11.20 am

Presentations - 2.35pm

Round 3

Registration - 2.40pm

Presentations - 6pm

Notices are up in the gym showing which round the gymnasts are in.

If anybody has an raffle prizes they would like to donate them please bring them in ASAP (preferably before the competition)

• 9am - 9.40am           All Monday pre-school classes plus a 10 minute special display

• 10am - 10.40am      All Tuesday pre-school classes plus a 10 minute special display

• 11am - 11.40am      All Wednesday pre-school classes plus a 10 minute special display

• 12pm - 12.40pm      All Thursday pre-school classes plus a 10 minute special display

• 1pm - 1.40pm           All Friday pre-school classes plus a 10 minute special display

• 3pm - 3.40pm           All Monday Gymschool 4-5pm and 4.45pm classes plus a 10 minute special display

• 4pm - 4.40pm           All Tuesday Gymschool 4-5pm and 4.45pm classes plus a 10 minute special display

• 5pm - 5.40pm           All Wednesday Gymschool 4-5pm and 4.45pm classes plus a 10 minute special display

Entry will be £3 per person and there is no need purchase your tickets for the events above.

However you will need to purchases tickets for the event below as there are limited spaces and so tickets will be sold on a 'first come first serve' bases. This event will be the highlight of the 'GYMNANZA' and so it is not to be missed by anyone.

Tickets are £5 for adults, £3 for children/OAP and are available in the office.

2 Tickets per participating child will be available from 26/10/09 and general sales will be available from 9/11/09, so don't delay on buying your tickets.

Sunday 13th December 2009 (Tickets will only be for one of the times, so if you want to see both then you will need two tickets)

This is for all members attending 2 or more hours. There will be a variety of shows  / displays from all our members including some of the coaches!!

• 4pm - 9pm               

Please check with your child's coach or with the office to see which time slot they will be performing in

There will be a professional photographer taking pictures throughout the weekend which will be available to buy after the event. Also there will be a DVD which will also be available to purchase after the event.

Boys SEGC Challenge

On the 16th August South Essex Gymnastics Club held the first SEGC Challenge. There were 56 boys competing all from South Essex in 11 different categories.

There were in total 188 medals, 11 overall trophies and 5 best performer trophies to be won throughout the day.

The overall winners in the setwork sections were;

• Joseph Pearce - Level 1 6 age group

• Mitchel Taracharam - Level 1 7/8 age group

• Max Blake - Level 1 In age

• Sam Loador - Level 1 Out of age

• Michael Baker - Level 2 In age

• Callum Rixon - Level 2 Out of age

• Josh Thornton-Lane - Level 3 Out of age

• Sam Armfield - Level 5 Out of age

The overall winners in the open sections were;

• Hayden Skinner - Under 10

• Jack Millham - Under 12

• Brinn Bevan - Under 14

*Cheerleading*

Cheerleading is an athletic, gymnastic disciplines practised worldwide and incorporates jumps, dance, tumbling, stunts, cheers and chants.

SEGC is now offering Cheerleading sessions for boys and girls aged 8 - 16 years of all abilities, in a SAFE purpose built gymnastics facility.

Every Sunday Afternoon (starting Sunday 9th August)

11:30am - 1:30pm (8-12 yrs)

2:00pm - 4:00pm (13-16 yrs)

You need to book in advance and spaces are VERY limited.

We are currently offering spaces for Rhythmic gymnastics for children aged 4 upwards.

Parent and Toddler sessions have now started on Sunday mornings.

Sessions are 9.45 to 10.45.
